Cartagena Station is one of several key train stations in the province of Murcia on the south-east coast of Spain. The station is located in the south of Cartagena, close to the port. It hosts mainline train services to Murcia, which continue onto Madrid Chamartin Station. There are also regional services to other key cities along the coast including Alicante and Valencia Nord Station but it’s usually faster to drive!

The train station in Cartagena is pretty small and facilities include toilets and car hire.

Explore more with a Cartagena Station car hire

Cartagena has a beautiful harbour and waterfront that’s great for strolling and soaking up the sunshine. It’s a great city to explore the area from. Although, it’s less so if you want to stay somewhere with a beach. However, with a Cartagena Station car hire, many lovely beaches on the Costa Calida are easily accessible.

If you’re arriving by train to Cartagena or already in the city, collecting a car hire at the train Station is a good option for excursions and longer trips. The station also has the advantage of being close to key motorways out of the city.

The nearest airport is Murcia Airport, which is actually located on the coast, close to San Javier. You can find a wider choice of suppliers there although it’s not so easy to get to from Cartagena without a car.
