Castellon Station (also known as Castello Station) is a key train station in the Costa Azahar (‘Orange Blossom coast’) in eastern Spain. It’s located just a short walk west of Castellon de la Plana’s city centre. Mainline train services from the station include Alicante, Valencia Nord and Barcelona Sants. You can also travel easily between Castellon de la Plana to beach resorts including Benicassim, Benicarlo and Viñaros by train. But bear in mind the train stations are often not close to the beach.
Facilities at Castellon train station include a cafe, toilets, cash machines, car parking and car hire.
In January 2018, Castellon became the newest train station on Spain’s high-speed AVE network. You can read our story on it below.

Whilst several cities along the coast are connected by train and bus services, the best way to get around the Costa Azahar is with a car hire. This is particularly the case if you don’t want to walk very far. Beaches such as those around Peñiscola and Alcossebre also don’t have a nearby train station.
Castellon de la Plana (or Castellon for short) is actually about 7kms from the sea. Many arrive to the coast either by train or by plane to Castellon Airport. Both offer car hire services. If you’ve arrived by train or are already in Castellon, then a Castellon Station car hire is probably more convenient.
