Malaga is the main gateway to Spain’s ever popular beaches on the Costa del Sol. Whilst many visitors choose to stay at one of the nearby beach resorts, Malaga itself is a fantastic city to explore. Whilst Malaga’s always been great for a number of things such as dining and shopping, in recent years, it’s transformed itself to become an arts hub with several great art museums. The city’s waterfront and port area is also worth a stroll along.
Malaga Maria Zambrano
The station’s full name is Malaga Maria Zambrano. It’s the main train station serving the city and province of Malaga and is where you will find yourself if you’re taking a high-speed or long-distance train. It also serves Malaga’s commuter network. Don’t confuse it with Malaga Centro Alameda, which is another train station serving Malaga’s commuter line and is sometimes simply referred to as ‘Malaga Centro’.
Whether you’re arriving by train to Malaga or already in the city, Malaga Maria Zambrano is a good place to collect a car hire. Centrally located, it’s got good access to public transport including trains to Malaga Airport. The city’s main bus station is also located next to it.
On-site Malaga Station car hire
Malaga Station is home to some big names in car hire. Hertz-Thrifty, Europcar, Avis-Budget and Enterprise-Alamo all have desks on-site, inside the station. You’ll find them beside the train platforms.
Arriving by long-distance or high-speed train? After entering the main concourse, just head towards your right for the car hire desks.
But if you’ve taken a commuter train, got a bus, taxi or walked to the station, you’ll find the car hire desks to the left of the departures board and train platforms.
Car hire parking
There is an underground car park, beneath the station. You’ll find car hires parked here. Just follow signs to Parking. There is a lift/elevator by the SuperSkunk shop in the concourse, which you can use to go down to the car park.
