Figueres Station is one of two train stations in the city of Figueres in the Girona province. You’ll find this station in the city centre, to the east of the leafy Placa de l’Estacio. The station hosts regional services to destinations including Girona Station, Barcelona Sants Station and Portbou Station. Facilities at the station include a cafe, toilets, car parking and car hire.

Figueres-Vilafant Station is the other train station in the city. It’s located about 2kms west of the city centre. Mainline train services from here include the high-speed AVE service to Barcelona Sants, Zaragoza and Madrid Atocha Station. You can also get a high-speed train to Perpignan in France.

A Figueres Station car hire is perfect if you’re looking for a downtown car hire location. It’s also obviously handy if this is where you’ve arrived to the city! There aren’t any car hire companies based at Figueres-Vilafant Station. So if you’re arriving a Figueres-Vilafant, you’ll need to make your way to the city centre to pick up a car hire. There is, however, a free shuttle bus between the station and the city centre every 15 minutes.

As for the city itself, Figueres is most notable for being home to the Dali Theatre-Museum. It’s an absolute treat for any fans of Salvador Dali. In addition to housing the largest collection of Dali works in the world, the artist himself helped to design it. On a visit, make sure you also see the jewellery collection he designed. The collection has a separate entrance so can be easily missed by visitors. For more Dali, it’s worth driving to Cadaques on the Costa Brava coast. There, you’ll find his old home, which has been turned into a museum. Cadaques is also just a really pretty seaside town.

Girona Airport is the nearest airport. It’s about 50kms south of Figueres and also offers car hire services.
