Murcia is about 45kms from the coast and beaches along the Costa Calida. If you’re in or travelling to Murcia and want to continue on towards the coast, the best way to get around is with a Murcia Station car hire. With the convenience of having your car, getting around is easy.

Spain’s Costa Calida is a popular stretch of coast in Spain, which includes beach resorts along La Manga del Mar. La Manga (for short), is a long and thin strip of land with the Mediterranean Sea on one side and Mar Menor, a seawater lagoon, on the other. The strip caters mainly for tourists with hotels and resorts filling up much of it. Other popular beaches nearby include those around Torrevieja, Puerto Mazarron and Cartagena.

The vast majority of visitors to the region head straight to the coast but the city of Murcia is worth checking out for a taste of Spanish city life. Highlights include the historic old town, which is south of the city centre, close to the River Segura. Two architectural gems in the city are the Cathedral and Episcopal Palace. There are also many great restaurants serving the local cuisine and it has a fantastic indoor market called the Veronicas.

The nearest airport serving the region is Murcia Airport. It also has car hire services. But, unlike the train station, the airport is much closer to the coast and is located in San Javier. If you’re looking to collect a car hire in downtown Murcia, the train station is more convenient.
